An Interdisciplinary Curriculum for the 4th Grade
New Netherland: An Exploration of Past and Present is a teacher- and student- friendly interdisciplinary curriculum for the 4th grade. Developed to follow New York State Curriculum Standards, this publication consists of seven lessons and a standard Document-Based Question (DBQ). The lesson plans use primary documents, raw data from the operation of the replica Half Moon, and well-designed exercises, and may be used in their entirety or as stand-alone lessons. Subjects covered include History, Geography, Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, and Reading. The DBQ may be used as a learning instrument or as a practice test for the New York State 5th grade Social Studies standardized test.

An Interdisciplinary Curriculum for the 7th Grade
This curriculum is an interdisciplinary, team-teaching curricular guide. It contains seven lessons, with arts, language, science and social-science content, that focus on the Dutch colonial experience in New York. These lessons are aligned with New York State educational standards developed for the seventh grade. The guide is designed to be completed in a coordinated fashion, utilizing team teaching methodologies, and culminates with the administration of a Document-Based Question (DBQ) pertaining to developmental characteristics of the Dutch colony of New Netherland.
